What happens when you drop a hairdryer in your bathtub?

While there is water in it.

Answers:
You know I had a roommate back in the 70s that always left the hair dryer hanging over the towel bar above the tub, I would always move it and warn him that he was going to electrocute himself, he never paid any attention and one day the third room mate came home to find him standing along side the tub shivering with the hair dryer in the tub, all we could think of was that this goofball leaped out of the tub after the hair dryer fell in, who knows how long he was next to the tub in shock. He was lucky to live.

It depends of whether or not the hair dryer is plugged in or not. If it's not, you'll just ruin the dryer. If it is, you could get electrocuted.
WELL IM NOT SURE, IF YOU ARE AS DUMB AS YOUR QUESTION, YOU COULD TRY IT AND SEE, COULD BE AN ELECTRIFYING EXPERIENCE
If you are also in the tub, you won't be asking any more questions in Yahoo.
It stings for a a whole 10th of a second before the gfci plug its plugged into trips out or the "new code" arch fault circuit breaker trips. But I wouldn't try it anyway.

do you like your rump roast medium or rare?
If there is water in the tub and you are in it, you had better hope the circuit is GFCI protected and that it works like it should.
there is a good chance you may get electrocuted,or cause the circuit breaker to switch that circuit off.
Okay... first off, what kind of question is this? Are you serious? Secondly, if you try it, you might be doing us all a favor and saving us from more dumb questions from people like you!
Go to Mythbusters and check it out. They did this one. Very humorous show and you learn!
lol just don't try it....
you get a new hairdo, that's for sure. FRIZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
it quits working
It it plugged in and running and you are in the tub you will probably see St. Peter sooner than you expcted to.
As long as you do not become the path of the least resistance between the potential (hot side of the line) and ground before the gfci device or the circuit breaker trips nothing to you. The fatal mistake people make is grabbing it to remove it from the tub. This act makes them part of the circuit and the subject of a newspaper article usually in the obituaries.
it gets wet
This is the short comings of Yahoo Questions. Because we get points to ask questions and give answers. Although it does shed some light on the different levels of intellect at work here. Some are here to help and some are here to have a paintball game. Myth busters is a good show. I has two guys who while being intelligent, know how to work the crowd.
