how do i eliminate humming noise in water pipes?

thats called water hammer , u have to add a regulating valve to slow down the speed and pressure of the passing water.

let the water drip slowly..
wear ear plugs or cut d pipe.
purg the air out of the water heater, what you do is take a bucket and hold it under the pop off valve let the water run and you will hear the change in the flow this may take a few buckets before you get the desired results
gffff
Forex is close. Water hammer is caused by sudden stopping or starting of the water flow. Reducing pressure with a regulator can help. Incoming PSI should be about 40 to 60. The real culprit with hammer is caused by piping not being strapped down securely. Check everywhere you can to make sure your pipes are secured to the building.
Another cause of rattling pipes can be worn valves/valve seats at your faucets. These will rattle like crazy but the noise should stop if you open the faucet all the way.
Your hot water heater may have a large amount of sediment in the bottom causing banging, rattling, gurgling noises that get transmitted through the pipes. Drain your heater to get rid of a lot of that sediment.
Unlikely but possible...you may have a lot of air in your water. Supplies can occasionally have a high turbidity level that should go away after awhile. Does your water come out cloudy but clears fairly quickly?
Rattling or noisy pipes can result in leaks or complete system failure causing lots of damage. Check things out especially unsecured pipes. Valves/stems/seats can be replaced or repaired with parts from your local home improvement center. Check with them on how to do it literature. Good luck!
ask for a sit down meeting with the water pipes explain you have a problem with its humming hopefully an sucessful outcome will be met with both parties
"bleed" the pipes. usually there is a valve on or near a radiator[ or preferably upstairs. open it and let the air out of the "line". have something to catch water in..water will spill out.
