PLUMBING UK I've removed a waste disposal from sink which leaves hole. How do I blank off or join to waste

Answers:
well if you are saying that you took out your garbage disposal out of your sink and now there is a big hole, what needs to happen next is that you purchase a standard sink drain to go in the hole and some pvc pipe which you connect to the bottom of the drain under the sink, you will also need an elbow, and a T in pvc in order to connect the new plumbing to the old plumbing. You will also need what is called Pipe dope, which is like a glue to put on the threads of the new pvc to prevent leaking. If the new plumbing is larger than the old plumbing you are attaching it to you might need reducers to get the right fit, but try to make the new stuff the same size to avoid extra work.

Hardware stores sell an item called a sink strainer. On the bottom is a spud that is threaded, typically 1 1/4 male thread. Buy an adapter and tail piece long enough to reach the continuous waste from the other half of the sink. It will have a compression nut that should seal the 2 together. Also need is plumbers putty. Make a 3/8 " snake by rolling it between your hands. I wants to be long enough to encircle the strainer. Push it down through the sink opening and smush (technical term) putting the paper gasket first then the nut. Thread the adapter on, Cut the tailpiece, put it into the waste line, tighten hand tight then 1/4 more with channellock pliers. Test for leaks. You win!
