Emergency help!! my hot water wont turn off knob just goes round and round. Need tostop until I go to store.?

turn it off under the sink and if that is the bad place turn the valve off at the hot water heater and turn off the breaker so you don't burn out the heating element. turn on all the hot water to the house and let it drain out.remember when you get ready to turn it back on to turn on the breaker.

If it is a sink, turn the water off underneath. If it a bathtub, just leave the drain open.

Grab a screw driver and take off the little plastic thing that says H and tighten the inner screw to the right
there should be another shut off valve on the supply line under the sink if it is a sink.If not go to the hot water tank there should be a shut off valve there.
go to your water heater and look on the top to the right and u should see a shut off vavle.. turn it clock wise until the water stops... if this dont work u can shut the whole house off by way of the street water meter
