Answers: this answer is solitary applicable if you have a u trap contained by your basement. I own owned 3 homes all built between 1955 and 1970 and adjectives three had this situation. be in motion into the basement and look where on earth the main sewer leaves the house, IF in that are two 4 inch caps right subsequent to each other, you own a u trap. the thing to do is purloin off both covers (it will smell a little) and appropriate about a 3 foot stick and stick it down both holes (one at a time) and chop up the soap, and doesn`t matter what that tends to stick around the u trap. I enjoy to do this every 6 months or so in direct to stop it from backing up contained by my floor drain. but it works great without the expense of calling a plumber. I would try this first as it will not cost a dime, you can other try the other solutions after if this is not your problem
you have something keeping the solids from exiting the sewer rank, usually it is tree roots, some times it is a collapsed pipe. pour two or three gallons of bleach down the drain. It will do the same commission as liquid plumber, and within about one and the same time.
