Answers: I take it it's only a vent cover for an air extractor follower in a bathroom or kitchen, if so the best entry you can do is replace it with a fixed grill vent cover costing a few pounds from B&Q or Wickes etc these dont own any moveable parts on them to make a thud. Simply fix it in place where on earth the original be, the screw holes will probably match up short having to re drill any holes surrounded by the wall.
