I have not had to change the sand in our pool filter before. After cleaning, how much sand do you put back in?

Answers:
All manufacturers filters use different amounts for different models. The label on the tank should have the information. Sorry, but there isn't a universal amount to be used in any filters. If you can't read the label, then mark the sand level inside the filter and refill to there.

Depends on the size of your tank. My pool is a 15 x 30 oval and use about 100lbs of sand to properly work the filter. Make sure the tank is pretty much full, you only need about 2 inches from where the water level (with sand)is to the top of your tank.

You should not have to change the sand in your filter unless. The sand has balled. The average life span in residental pool is 15 years. But if want to change the sand in your filter. Measure the distance around your filter. If it is a 24 inch it will take 350 pounds of sand media. 26in. it will take 375pounds. If it is 30inch it will take 550pounds. It vairies on the brand and size. Need more info.
