Answers:
When you go to take off the gas and water connection from your combo look at your seals and see if they need to be replaced and you can call the gas and water people if you can not tell I know they would like to answer any concerns you have

I have no idea what a combi is , but if you take apart anything Replace what ever you see and exposed, the parts are cheap.

Any time a gas connection is taken apart, the seals should be replaced. Here in the US, you can also get a thread tape (yellow) for gas pipes, similar to the teflon tape that is used in plumbing (white). Apply it to the pipe threads, by wrapping it a few times in the direction of the threads, then assemble the connection.
Water connections aren't quite as serious as a gas connection, so you can use your best judgement here, if you need to save a few pennies... myself...anytime I have to take something apart, I go ahead and put in new parts...I figure it will save me problems down the road, heheh.
Regarding your whistling noise -- I found the following site about a noisy combi system, and scrolling down it, the poster followed someone's advice and lowered the pump speed (which also reduces water pressure/speed). This solved the noise problem they were having.
And don't forget to turn off any electrical service to the device you are working on.. hehehe
