Bathroom slider fanlight can't be open due to rust.?

How can I get the pane open? I newly bought a unit and the owner said he could expand it, but I and others have tried minus success. Will WD-40 work? I didn't want to be paid things worse without asking first. Any other suggestions are appreciated, of late nothing requiring taking the glass out.

Thanks.

Answers:    wd 40 could help. tolerate it get a couple applications and try again. if it doesn't plain with moderate force( painstaking of shattering glass! ) it will entail to be replaced.
Buy some 'Liquid Wrench' at a hardware-type store. Sprinkle it anywhere appropriate. It's thin/runny, so most of it will flow downward onto the bottom track of your window. Let the stuff work for a few hours, next try sticking the end of a long, diluted flat-blade screw between the window and its track, wiggle the screwdriver, then try it a few inches away, etc., until you've worked along the unharmed bottom of the track. You might try doing this on the outside of the window as capably. Might I suggest replacing that metal window near a VINYL window?
Liquid Wrench is better than WE40 for removing rust. i would try that first and use a table pierce to kind of spread it around It will be messy so put down some dissertation towels to absorb the stuff when it runs down the glass. Just keep at it and you should eventually know how to move the window.
Also Silicone is great for keeping aluminum window and patio door tracks sliding the route they should
There is something called Naval Jelly, try that.
