How many hours a day should our pool pump run?
Answers:
Long enough to give at least 2 complete turnovers of the water. That depends on filter type and size and the pump model and horsepower. And, of course, the number of gallons in the pool. Sorry, but can't be more specific without more specifics!

I run mine 8hrs a day.
Check the information you received with the equipment. I don't have a pool.
It should run 24 hours a day, as long as it is being used.
6 hours for a 10,000 gallon 6hp motor pump.. otherwise 8 hours a day for an 'average' pool / pump combo. Bump it to 24 hours a day if you have found a dead hooker floating anytime recently.
It really depends on how well your chlorine stays up to spec. You might get away with running it 8 hrs but I have to run mine 24hrs/day to keep the chlorine feeding. I use tablets in the skimmer. Usually a decent pump will turn the water over once every 8 hrs. Also, it depends on how much trash gets in the pool. Remember no pump, no skimmer.
Almost all pools are unique due to variables such as pump and filter size, local contaminants such as dust or pollen, amount and time of day pool receives shade, etc., etc., etc....
Run as needed.
