Why won't my refrigerator cool?

So it basically sounds close to it's running but when I open my fridge or freezer, it's thaw out.
I don't know if this helps but the house we moved vertebrae into had the electricity turned rotten for about a year, so the fridge be not in use during that time of year.

The fridge is pretty old...I give attention to 15 years at least.
The brand is Frigidaire.

Answers:    If you can hear it running the compressor is probably ok. You may enjoy a shortage of gas. Older fridges especially can have problems next to gas leaking if they are gone off for long period of time as the seals can dry out and crack allowing the gas to escape. The cost of repairing the problem may be greater than the advantage of the fridge. may be time to get a tentative one
I would say nearby is a problem with your compressor. We have this problem with our Amana after going away it in our In Laws garage for 5 years while we be in an apartment. You can christen a repairman to get a better impression of how much it would cost to check out the problem, but make sure you gain an estimate of how much checking it out will cost.
Open the freezer while it's running. Can you feel nouns moving? There is a fan surrounded by there. If no nouns is moving the fan is discouraging and you need to replace it. If nouns is moving and is warm TURN OFF the frig and ring up a repairman. You will need investigational refrigerant. Check the fan though. On a refrigerator that outmoded it's not unusual for them to go unpromising.
No need to guess. Just be in motion to http://appliancequickfix.com/ and they will tell you adjectives about running down your problem.
