which is better for termite control, liquid treatment or baiting system?

Answers:
Both work well and in conjuction with each other.I have had a high rate of sucess with the baiting system.

yes.
There are Chemical Treatments and Physical Treatments

CHEMICAL

1. TRAP-TREAT-RELEASE
(TTR) is a technique for suppressing or killing social insect colonies, particularly, subterranean termite colonies. TTR was developed by Dr. T. G. Myles at the University of Toronto, and was licensed by the University of Toronto Innovations Foundation to FMC Corporation.

TTR is sometimes confused with baiting techniques, but the two techniques are fundamentally different. Baiting involves the direct ingestion of a pesticide from a contaminated food source. The bait toxicant is subsequently transported in the gut to other members of the colony through the sharing of gut contents, a process known as trophallaxis. By contrast, TTR the toxicant is applied externally to termite bodies as a groomable coating. Coated termites carry effectively larger loads of toxicant than do bait-fed termites.

2. Soil Termiticide Injection

Used for subterranean termites.

Drilling of the foundation wall/slab.
Injection of termiticide from below slab, and in the soil in contact with foundation.
Plugging drill holes on interior with cement, or caulking.

3. Baits

Bait station is placed into soil at intervals around building
Bait inside contains slow-acting chemical.
Individuals feed on bait, and return to the colony.
Poison is passed on to other members, killing a portion of the exposed colony.

4. Chemical Fumigation

Usually used for drywood termite infestation.

Removal of all chemical absorbent materials from building to be fumigated.
Tent whole building.
Evacuation of surrounding properties depending on legislative codes.
Pump in fumigant and allow time to penetrate wood.
Venting of gas.
Remove tent.

PHYSICAL:

1. Heat
Heat treatment is another alternative to chemical fumigation for complete-building treatment of drywood termites.

Nylon tarps are used to tent the building.
Materials that are not heat resistant are removed from the building, and water is left running to protect plastic pipes.
Large propane heating unit is connected to the tent by a large flexible hose and turned on. Hot air is blown in and around the structure to heat the walls from both the interior and exterior.
Heat is allowed to reach 45 degrees celsius (120 F) for 35 minutes to 50 degrees celsius (130 F) for 1 hour.
Heat is shut off, and tent is removed.

2. Freezing

Not practical for treatment of large areas, or by window glass (can shatter glass).

Tarps are used for larger areas like porches
Liquid nitrogen is pumped into the infected area chilling it down to -20 degrees (F) freezing the termites.
Gas is vented off
Tarps removed.

3. Electricity

Infested damaged wood is exposed.
Electro-Gun is placed on one side and ground on the other side of the infested timber.
Electrical shock of low current (~0.5 amps), high voltage (90,000 volts), and high frequency (60,000 cycles) jumps into termite galleries and ends at the ground.
Termites in its path are killed.

4. Microwaves

Microwave generators are mounted against wall on a pole one foot apart.
Remote switches start the generators.
Heat generated by the microwaves kill termites.
Pole system is moved to next wall space to be exposed.
