I have a Spectra Brand Geothermal Water Furnace/AC section in my home. Right in a minute it has a plastic type of filter surrounded by it-really 2 pieces each measure 13 x 30 inches. The unit is 15 years outdated, and the filter itself is almost disinegrated so I cannot even reinsert the filter-it is bending so badly. I can't find any filter this size-only 1 website had a "cuttable" size your own filter. What generous of filter can be used in a geothermal unit- can you use the "paper" helpful? The one in near is plastic, like a moment ago to keep out hugely large stuff-not dust at adjectives. We would prefer to use a better filter like the HEPA variety. Would this restrict the air flow too much? Can I use the "cuttable" kindly for this? I looked up the brand on-line but found nothing by Spectra at adjectives so I assume it is out of business? We have lived contained by the house for 3 years, moved to IN from NJ, so are not familiar beside geothermal at all - but LOVE the money funds! (electric bill $140-$200 a month-no oil or gas bill at adjectives!)
Answers: You can use any type of filter. Just use a good power pleated one if you use a disposable. For more info check out the air filter page at www.hvac-for-beginners.com
any kind of filter would be fine, purely stay away from the spun glass and dance with a pleated filter this will allow for better filtration.check the white page for a filter co. in your nouns they should be able to bring the size filter you need.
