I have a spanking new double glazed front door and fanlight fitted by a friend. I am presently selling property.?

The solicitors are asking for a FENSA ceritificate but I've never had one, what do I do!!!!

Answers:    The solicitor will want to overrun the FENSA certificate onto the purchaser. If you don`t enjoy one it will not matter.
ask your friend for counsel on how to get one
Tell them you dont own one..... i moved into a house without one and it made no difference to the price of the house or how lots people be interested in it. At the downfall of the day its a door.
In directive to get a FENSA warrant , your installer would have to be registered through FENSA. If thats without a solution, you will have to run through goverment facilities that require this type of program.
You can influence that you do not have any fensa documentation, or ask your friend if you can attain one. You might also need to check to see if you want any planning permission as you might of changed the external appearance of your home.
You can contact your local council (Building Control) and they can dispatch someone to inspect the work. If it passes they will issue you next to a certificate. They will charge you for this service though! You could other say the pane was installed since 2002 (or it was near when you bought the house) as fensa was with the sole purpose introduced in that year ;-)
You could relate the solicitor this. The buyer will proably want you to pay for indemnity insurance against adjectives problems. This normally just costs just over lb100 and removes you form adjectives liability, whilst covering the new occupier against any future problems, I believe. Your solicitor or estate agent should know how to advise you more.
You will any (1) have to retribution a double glazing firm to inspect it (2) pay the council to inspect it or (3) contribute to buy indemnity insurance for the buyer.

All cost about lb100-lb150

Indemnity insurance is quickest and will remove adjectives building regualtion type questions roughly the whole house.

FENSA certificate have be required for a while. The exemption is when windows and doors are fitted beneath planning notice/buidling regs as part of an approved plan.
Have it replaced by someone who can provide you near a certificate.
