On TV I saw a bit about a club that offered discounted appliances, bldg materials to those remodeling or build

It's a huge scam, please don't be gullible enough to fall for these idiots bullcrap. They "offer" savings by dealing direct and buying in bulk, but isn't that what any major store does? And then they charge a huge yearly membership fee, whether you buy anything or not.
Would you pay $700.00 a year to have access to a Home Depot? Thats basically what it amounts to except you wouldn't be getting reputable products, just generic, bobo brands.

BE VERY CAREFUL! Most contractors go to Home Depot, Lowes or mom and pop hardware stores. As a Contractor, I have never heard of such a club. There are very shady businesses out there as you know, and this could very well be one.

I agree you have to be very careful with something like that. They may offer something like that and it sounds like an awesome deal... But somehow it may come back and bite you on the a**.
I could imagine that the stuff they offer probably won't be a very good quality. I understand that the cash flow may be very tight... But hey we have all been there. I would hate to see you end up getting some sort of appliance, and end up sticking tons of money into it when it breaks.
If you ever find out where this place is. do a very thorough investigation and see what exactly you will be getting. Such as brands of appliances, quality of wood, counter tops, all that stuff. If it looks cheap it more and likely will be... Also make sure there is no hidden charges that may occur down the road.
Good Luck
Was this on an infomercial? Perhaps DirectBuy? Don't go that route. Their membership fees eat up anything that you'd "save" through their little club.
