My swimming pool is green. what do i do?

You have what is known as "turbity"(cloudy) plus green algae. Your "balance point" of the water is off==recheck. You may need to "backflush" the pump filter to clean it out. Buy some "Supershock" chlorine packs and supershock your pool . This may get rid of both problems if you supershock it correctly==should. Do this at night==sunlight pulls the chlorine out of the pool water. Check the pump turn over rate>>this means that all the water in the pool gets filtered through the pump and filter over a period of 8 hours==this turn over rate is important. Get you a manual(health dept.) on pool upkeep=they give a class also for pool certification testing=not really too difficult if you can spare a day-perhaps two.

algicide and run the hell out of the filter
Drain the pee and refill it.
This works and is safe
Buy non scented bleach by the gallon. depending on pool size I have dumped 3 gallons in 5000 gallons of water and the pool cleared in 4 hrs. We did not go swimming intill the pool reach the high end of the safe chlorine level. What it does is release the chlorine instantly all at one time shocking the system.
