plunger stuck down main drain. too far to reach. how do i get it out?

outside drain started to block,used plunger but dropped it down. now stuck about 5ft down and wedged tight. anything to melt rubber, but safe for drains. don`t want to dig up whole drain to get it. can`t afford drain people out. it keeps overflowing now.

What drain?
Any way, get a grabber(you know the things that look like this : ||)----{ and when closed ||)----[}

and pull it out:)
you can use diesel to soften the rubber (wont hurt drain) then put a lag bolt on the end of a snake and turn the snake until bolt enter the rubber far enough to pull it out.:)
You could take two identical lengths of wood and nail small brads through them, cover the brad heads with a strong adhesive, cover the adhesive with duck tape or something similar, then use the sticks like chopsticks with claws and pull that sucker up! Thank God for auto-mechanic fathers,eh? (I had to be REALLY inventive recently, when I accidently left my three year old and a stand-up shower drain alone together long enough to grab a towel out of my hall cupboard. The drain cover only had one screw and my daughter can't bathe without her various rubber bath buddies! The towels have been relocated and the drain sports a fresh, new, unbudgeable cover. I stashed the 'chopsticks'--just in case.)
get some stout rope make a noose, now find a length 5ft maybe of waste pipe, thread tail end of rope through said pipe,holding pipe and rope guide noose end over plunger handle.That`s it now pull tail of rope to tighten noose and haul it out?
what about this: u either find or buy diffrent diameters of water lines (probably galvanized or black iron but maybe copper) that are long enough for u to reach the handle of the plunger. try diffrent sizes untill hopefully u find one that the plunger handle almost fits inside of then tap the pipe down over the handle with a hammer wedging the handle inside the pipe then pour dishsoap down the drain to lubricate the plunger and sides of the pipe and see if u can work it up and out
