have an old car with fading paint job, want to repaint and get a gloss look w/o putting much money into it?
Answers:
try checking around at different body shops in your area. Usually you can find someone who is fairly reasonable and that will do a great job painting your car. After all it is better to have it done right in the long run!

MAACO has a (basic)complete auto paint job for about $200. It could make your old car shine

Have you considered a hand wax?
Try having it professionally buffed. That should bring the color back.

i will think of it and tell you later.
try going to small shops, relatives, friends, or anyone you think you know fairly well. they may give you the supplies you need for a cheaper price. if you need any more help, ask your parents to pitch in a little. hope this works for you!
I'm not sure if this will work because you've put spray paint on top, but you can buy something called "Polishing Compound" from any automotive store. My brother did this to his car and polished it using a cloth disk mounted to a drill and the paint job came out looking like new. I've included a link in the sources section that you may want to check out.
I agree find a MAACo in your location.. They used to, and might still have the $189 paint job. And it looks pretty dang good when they are done.
