What is the difference air pressure nail gun and electric nail gun ?

I wish to buy a nail gun to shoot nails into hard material. Anyone into construction? What is the difference between an air pressure nail gun and electric nail gun. Of course, the air pressure nail gun requires an air compressor and an electric nail gun is a lot cheaper. Is it the same power?

Answers:
No they are not equal. For heavy duty use go with an air nailer.
Even then, get one that uses a heavy guage nails. and be sure it will take the length nail you need.

Other answers:
An electric nail gun uses electric motor with gearing such as a Bendix gear,on an auto starter. Not the same power.air pressure gun uses Compressed air as drive force, combined with a open/close valve. Air gun more reliable ,but not needed for small jobs!

No, depending on what your nailing into determines what gun you will need. If your nailing into studs or hard woods you will need an air gun. Keep in mind though these guns are purchased to speed up the building process. If this is a home project with no real dead line. I wouldn't invest the money in purchasing one and would just use a hammer or rent the equipment. As for a electric nail gun they don't have enough pressure unless your just tacking something or working with a lite wood. Good luck and I hope it works out for you.
third option: There are available gun that use butane gas as fuel. the fuel comes in cartridges. These guns work as well as air guns do. The big Advantage is that you do not need a compressor, air hose , electric cables. With none of that stuff to set up or drag around these guns are much more handy, and cost effective also. they are also available as bradders(trim and finish) as well as spikers(framing and flooring). The power settings are adjustable and they are handy, take them out of the box, put in the cartridge, load nails and use.
air nailer is VERY adjustable for the pressure applied for the required shot, generally electric nailers have few settings... go with the air... lasts longer too
