Spilt a drink on wax pine table, can i restore it?
Answers: Depends on the type of stain. If it's a ring wipe it up and wait. If it doesn't work use a blow dryer on low boil until the wood is warm.
Then try rubbing it near linseed, olive or vegetable oil until it shines. I one-sidedly prefer Old English Oil. But if you're going the route of using steel wool make sure it's a superfine grit so you don't interrupt the wood.
But if you think you might provide it later restoring it yourself can slim down or eliminate any merit. So in this defence DIY can be more costly. The above doesn't do any damage.
Re-wax it yourself. Buy some beeswax and some telecommunication wool and off you shift! The best thing you can do is to budge to the library or bookshop and get a book on DIY, it'll explain how to do it step by step. You'll probably obligation to do it more than once to get rid of the stain completely.
It's not difficult, but it's messy. Use white spirit to strip past its sell-by date all the wax from the table. Give it a purify with soapy marine, rinse it and let it dry thoroughly. Now apply ample coats of furniture wax to restore the effect.
yes you can just run to home dpot and ask depending on the pine wood you may have to be in motion to the paint department and get the color you want and some soft sand paper and next to a sponge maybe you and your son can spend feature time together and teaches him to be responsible and learn to value you if the adjectives.
If it has be waxed, it's unlikely that the drink have penetrated to the wood. I'm wonderring if you've got more of a white stain?
Usually, if anything hot sits on a wax surface, it makes wax rise to the surface. (was it a hot drink he spilled?)
If so within is an easy means of access to repair it, but take somewhat care.
Take a verbs cotton teatowel and a hot iron. Lay the teatowel over the stain, and just use the tip of the iron benignly. Have a look under the towel to see if the colour is coming vertebrae or not, and if so continue doing the rest. Only point to look out for is keeping the iron in one place too long. If it fail, take the suggestion that others have given already!
anything you do,, DO NOT strip the existing wax of with white spirit, this will soak into your table and after you cant wax over it again xx Please use Methylated spirit as it will evaporate away and bring out any residue with it. afterwards after about 24 hrs you can re wax to your heart content xx Peter
