Garage Door Problem!!?

My garage door was fine roughly an hour ago. I sprayed some WD-40 on the chain and installed some topical weather stripping. I pulled the cord to reconnect to the track. Opens fine, but when closing, the doors gets to the ultimate couple of feet and SLAMS shut.

Answers:    You don't verbs the cord to reconnect. Pulling of the cords disconnects the door from the drive. That is why
the door went down concrete.

Tip - don't use WD-40; dust and dirt stick to it. Use a silicone based lubricant instead.

You should know how to reconnect the door to the drive by operating the lift machine. If not then make higher the door manually when the lift workings is at the door up position and the door latch should reengage with the elevate mechanism.
It sounds close to you inadvertently got some WD40 on the clutch assembly. You might try some brake verbs on the clutch to remove the excess oil. Only spray the clutch assembly.
What kindly of garage door operator do you own? and check your spring to make sure it is not broke!
First, how does the door operate by mitt? Assuming the springs are intact, is it heavy coming stale the ground? It should stop and stay about half-way up, and should stay surrounded by the open position as in good health. If it's unusually heavy at the floor, the springs have need of adjustment. Also, determine if the new weather stripping is interfering surrounded by any way. Many screw-drive operator have a clutch assembly on the extraordinarily back of the gadget. That can be adjusted according to the manufacturer's suggestion. Most chain drive operator have an electronic clutch. You set the uncap and close force by turning screws on the side of the apparatus. That type can't slip. WD-40 would have no effect on that. My first instinct is that it's a spring issue. If it is a chain-drive, the gear assembly inside the appliance may be getting worn out. In that case, nearby can be slippage. Typically, that is cause by improper spring adjustment. That too would necessitate to be repaired.
