How do I refinish my window sills? They are neutral colored wood, and have some condensation marks and wear.?

There is no leaking problem, just build-up of moisture from winter, or exposure from leaving windows open, etc. I would like to sand the sill, then recoat with something to keep it matching with the rest of the window woodwork (which is 15 years old). I'd rather not refinish the entire window area, just the bottom sill.

Answers:
Save yourself the sanding and try rejuvenating the finish with Howards Restore a Finish. You can find it on the paint/stain aisle in the home improvement stores for under $5. It is a wipe on application which you can purchase in either clear or in a stain color to match the existing finish. It will fill in scratches and water marks, restore the shine and won't damage the wood or affect the existing finish.

Other answers:
I would sand them then stain them to match the other woodwork and then polyurethane them with a nongloss or satin finish.

sand with rough sanpaper, then fine. Clean the sawdust off and use a waterproofing varnish.
