is there a breaker tripped in your pool panel box located near the pool? if so..reset breaker and turn the switch on. if your pool is has been built in the last 8 or so years then there will be a gfic breaker located in the box. reset the breaker if it is tripped
Millions of reasons. Learn about how your light gets power. It should have a switch and it should be working. It should have a breaker in the house panel that goes to that switch and it should be on (in rare cases the breaker could be bad). You may also have a GFCI (Ground Fault Interrupter Circuit). This may be tripped (reset it). The GFCI may be in a box that the pool light plugs into (maybe in some bushes by the pool even.) Of course, the bulb may be burnt out and this is the most likely cause. You do not need to drain the pool. Make darn sure the breaker to the light is OFF! Unscrew the screws holding the bracket to the light. The cord should be long enough to pull it up out of the water to change the bulb. Have a bungee cord and something heavy handy to anchor the thing on the pool deck while you work on it. Remember, NO FEAR! OK, a little respectful fear. Take the thing apart and figure out where the bulb is and test it if you have a tester or a meter. If you don't have a tester get a new bulb anyway and replace it because if the old one is good you will then have a spare. Remember, check all the power ideas first, then replace the bulb. This should get you back in business. This is not as big of a deal as you may think. I saved a ton of money changing mine.
I'll have to go with a tripped GFCI. Find it and reset it. Should solve the problem. Location of it can be a bit unsettling. Should be on an outside plug somewhere. If you find it and reset it only to have it immediately trip again I'd call an electrician to run down the problem. Nothing hurts quite like electricity and water!
Went for swimming.
have you tried using a circuit tester to see if the outlet is even getting power?.might be the problem...not the bulb
