How do i remove carbon build up from my engine?

i have foundation to believe that excessive carbon deposits are causing my engine to lose like mad of power. my 17.5hp ohv functions more like an 8hp pony. it bogs down really smoothly and has trouble keeping the blades up to speed and mowing up a small incline make the engine drop down to about 1500rpms.

will grease in the combustion chamber raison d`¨ētre carbon to build up? the previous owner of this engine flipped his tractor and oil flowed into the combustion chamber.

Answers:    Put some injector cleaner within the gas. Change the plugs and the wires. Get a new nouns filter. Spray some carb cleaner in the carb. Sharpen the blades. There is a providence the timeing may be off. If that doesnt work run it in to adjust it.
I don't know a instrument to take it apart and gain rid of carbon build up what we do is go out something like 3 o'clock in the morning find a deserted stretch of highway and floor it and dance as fast as possible to burn the carbon out.
There is a great product out in attendance called "Sea Foam". Buy a can and put the correct amount contained by your gas tank. There are instructions on the can.

It is a fuel line/carb cleaner. Now the first reservoir will cause your mower to smoke close to crazy. It may run worse than it does now, but by the third reservoir it should be running like a top. If that doesn't do the trick, whip your carb off and filch it in for a virtuous rebuild/cleaning.

Sea Foam is good for ALL gas engines, and also works as a storage gas stabilizer.
Actually, what your problem might be? A skinny spark from your coil. Another problem could be the carb is dirty, try these: clean the contact points between the magneto and flywheel ( the riveted magnet on the flywheel) verbs the rust off and reset the gap- using a piece of cardbord from an grease filter box. Loosen the magneto, put the cardbord between the flywheel/magneto ends, spin the flywheel till the magnet/magneto meet- the magneto will snap tward the flywheel giving a proper gap, consequently tighten the magneto down and remove the cardbord. Change the sparkplug if its old.
Remove and verbs the carbuator- it happens, gasoline is fluently dirty, right from the pump - it gets surrounded by your tractors tank when y spread it- dust goes contained by, ect. Make sure all the passage are clear of debris, by any soaking in a carb cleaner hip bath or spray carb cleaner ( or both). Change the fuel filter while youre at it.
Ive flipped lawntractors over before ( messing around) and havent have any issues with them running after ward.
