My Toilet tank is slow in refilling, do I need to replace it?
Answers:
no you need the guts inside the tank to be replaced ,,and make sure your valve is on all the way .we bought the guts in homedeopt for 9.00 and change
Other answers:
Nope, you don't have to replace it. Just get a professional to check it out and fix what needs to be fixed. It'll be fine.

Go to the hardware store and ask to see the FLUIDMASTER products. They will send you on the right path.
put a red brick in the tank, it will fill up a little faster
best to retool it or buy another
Take the lid off. check to see if there is a proper seal over the hole. If the rubber piece is not lined up properly it will take forever to fill.
You may need to check your water pump. We have the same problem only it the washer not the toilet. Water pressure is fine everwhere else. Get a pro to come check it out before investing money into a bunch of quick fixes like we did.
Just buy a replacement filler...also replace the flapper valve at the same time...it will be like new again.
If you do decide on buying a new toilet (because they are cheap) then don't forget to pickup a new wax seal.
Good Luck
THE CULPRIT IS PROBABLY YOUR BALLCOCK. THAT'S THE PART THAT THE WATER HOSE FROM THE WALL(SUPPLY LINE)ATTACHES TO.YOU NEED TO SHUT OFF THE WATER AT THE ANGLE STOP(BELOW TOILET).THEN REMOVE WATER FROM TANK BY FLUSHING.THEY REMAINING WATER YOU CAN SOAK UP WITH A SPONGE.REMOVE HOSE FROM BOTTOM OF TANK,THEN REMOVE THE NUT HOLDING THE BALLCOCK.REMOVE AND REPLACE WITH NEW ONE.THEY ARE INTERCHANGEABLE.FLUID MASTER 400A IS EASY TO WORK WITH AND WIDELY AVAILABLE.YOU SHOULD REPLACE THE SUPPLY LINE AT THE SAME TIME SINCE IT'S 25 Y.O. TOO. GOOD LUCK.
adjust ballcock
ballcock is the one which controls the INFLOW of the water entering the tank
see which adjustment allows the ballcock go MORE UP than the present level and adjust it
each tank has different way of adjusting
this should do the trick
ya what angel said
no need to replace the tank. just replace the fill valve
Check the shutoff valve coming out of the wall and going up to the bottom of the tank. I would turn it all the way off (clockwise) then all the way on (counter clockwise). You may want to do this a couple of times. It could be that it has clogged or best of all things that it simply is not turned on all the way.
