Whirlpool dishwasher stinks?

It's probably not draining completely - you may need a new timer. You'll have to call a repairman. That smell won't go away as long as that's happening.

let it air out between loads esp. if you have well water. sometimes the water will build in an odor. also believe or not long term use of scented gel soaps will overpower bad smells if they are in the plstic walls
Make sure that the drain line has a loop in it.
with the drain pump and a large loop all the water should come out. the syphon action will carry the rest of the water as the pumps shuts off
Make certain the Disposal is empty- and draining and make certain the knock out plug was remvoed from the disposal inlet.
They make these little disks now that you can put into your dishwasher to clean it out. But you might also want to check in your pipes. Use drano or something to clean that.
Buy a new one
theres probably old food or dirt build up and such in your chopper, which is under the spiral arm. need to take some screws out and dont misplace anything, so yeam do that clean it out and it should be fine, if all else fails, get some tang and put it the soap capartment, and itll smell fine.
