Trying to find out a company that will install skylights surrounded by kitchen roof.?
Answers: if you hold tried contractors in you nouns, and are getting no response, the reason is that even when installed correctly abundant times they leak or at smallest need to be re tarred frequently and most contractors don't want to lug on the headache. keep trying within your area phone book and don't expect the chore to be warrantied for more than a year and maybe someone will do it for you..............right luck
I had this done within my kitchen last year. Since we hold a metal roof, I had to contact the installer of the roof to "unbuckle" the roofing and afterwards, after the skylight was installed, replace the steel roof. Expensive, but worth it. If you own a conventional composit roof of it is much easier and very much smaller quantity expensive.
Now to the installation of the roof. Many glass specialty shops, those that provide window cup for houses, will either install the skylights themselves or hold contractors they use to do this. The big box home improvement stores similar to Home Depot and Lowes will also have contractors they use. The skylight at the big box stores will probably be cheaper than within the glass shops, however, the installation may not be of as correct a quality.
I know of several instances whrere the contractors used by the big box stores do smaller number than quality work. The big box stores don't really nurture and if they get complaints they simply seize another installer. The smaller glass shops, equally, depend on good customer relations and will tend to use a more established contractor to do the work. While you may wages slightly more for the job, it will probably be worth it. Small established business' tend not to want doomed to failure customer satisfaction.
Opening up your roof is not that a big concord, however, closing it back up, dribble free, can be a big and very critical deal. I outstandingly recomend an installer that specializes in remodel glass installation. The glass shops will be the best source for finding the best installers (my opinion). Call several contained by your area.
The later bit of advice is to protected, in writing, a garantee of the work to be properly installed and escape free.
