How much pressure does a barbecue sized propane cylinder own up to that time it go through the regulator?
Answers: The pressure in the reservoir is relative to the temperature of the juice in the container. At -40 degrees Fahrenheit it is 1.3 psi. at 60 degree it is 92.5 psi. and at 110 degrees it is 197.3 psi. These numbers are straight out of a gas appendage book.
60 to 120 psi
I don't know the exact answer to that but I would love to know why you need to know. I work for Uhaul and imbue those thanks each day (a normal BBQ one is "5 gal" or "20 lbs"). Theoretically, as you use the propane the pressure contained by the tank go down until it reaches the pressure outside the reservoir and then you are "out" of propane, even though nearby may be a tiny bit propane left within the cylinder. The regulator just controls the flow of propane out of the cistern because your BBQ doesn't require the higher pressures that exist inside the reservoir to run propperly.
The tanks are sticky and heavy because within is a large pressure needed to "liquefy" propane. I don't rem appendage exactly but it is around 600 pounds. Natural gas is almost double that.
