How do you expose the electrical outlets when you put up drywall over it?

I have covered walls. I wanted it cover it next to drywall, but there are outlets surrounded by the cement walls. I know I got to hold holes cut out for them, but do I need to hail as in the electrician to rewire them? I be hoping I could do it myself. It needs to come out of the smooth wall at least an inch or so.

Answers:    If you are not experienced next to electric be very well thought-out.

Before you start to sheet rock, shut off the power, remove the plastic plate that covers your outlets and switches, remove the screw that holds the devices (switches, outlets etc) in the box. There should be satisfactory slack in the wires so you can verbs them out far enough so you can dangle you sheet rock. Of course you'll have to cut holes for the devices to fit through. Try to cut your holes small satisfactory so the wings on the devices won't dance through the cutouts. When you have hung your sheet rock, fit the devices final into the boxes and replace the screws. You may own to buy longer screws at a hardware store to put together up the difference of the sheet rock.

If you need to hold the power on while you are sheet rocking, when you remove the screws and verbs out the devices, wrap the connecting screws, on the sides of the devices, near black electrical tape. Safer that agency, especially if you have kids.
You install 1-1/4 inch metal or plastic plaster rings on the existing boxes to build them out. The devices will consequently attach to the plaster ring. There are probably other names for it check at your local supply.

Hopefully you hold enough rope to accommodate the extension.
Kill the power, remmove the old boxes and extend the line 6" to 9" using wire nuts. Cut your boxes out on your sheetrock be they need be and reasemble boxes onto clean sheetrock. Rewire your plugs and you should be good to step.
After the power is shut off at the circuit panel, use a Roto-Zip.
Do you own a building permit to do this employment? If not you should get one. The "Electrical Code" within the City/County will specify what you MUST DO to meet the minimum standards within. If you don't follow the CODE when you do the job, it won't overhaul inspections if you ever have to vend the home. Pay me now, or payment me later comes to mind.
