home ac evaporator/coil above furnace sweating?
Answers:
In high humidity, the sweating of the evaporator coil will be normal. That is why there is a drip pan with a drain installed. Keep the drain line clear and you should be OK. An air conditioner is supposed to cool the air and reduce the humidity. Keep your doors and windows closed when running the A/C.

I have no clue, but ours started freezing up when we had freon problems, so I'd have it checked out.

the sweating is normal....dont sweat it...no pun intended....lol....watch for any signs of freezing though on your coils. thats not good. if it freezes up you will have to turn off the power and thaw it. i have used a hair dryer in the past. make certain that your drain is clear as the water from the excessive sweating can cause water damage if the pan is not draining properly.
good luck and stay cool.
I'm an apprentice for heating and cooling, The suction side (The larger copper line) Is supposed to be sweating. There is NOTHING wrong, that is part of normal operations under warm and humid temperatures. Unless it starts to turn into a nice big block of ice.
This is a common problem actually in humid areas. You condenser unti builds up condenstaion and when it is humid it tends to "sweat" alot more.If it is overrunning then you need to call a proffesional to look at the problem.
Sweating is normal... this is why you have a drain pan, and drain line.
Just like a cold drink will bead moisture on the outside of it, the condensor coils on an ac unit will also get moisture on them... especially if the weather has been humid. The higher the humidity, the more sweating on the coils.
An additional tip here... Ive been to a lot of homes where the drain line simply dropped thru the floor, and emptied under the home... this leaves all of that moisture trapped under your house, and it will cause damage over time. It is better to run the drain completely outside of the home. You dont need anything special...regular half inch water supply line will work just fine.
