I was wondering how often carpeting in rental units legally have to be replaced in the State of Wisconsin?

As a former BUILDING INSPECTOR for the great state of Wisconsin....EACH CITY has it's own rules and regulations. In every minority run motel it is every 35 years or when it does not grow anymore morel mushrooms under the bed. IN college dorms it is every 9 months...in rental units it depends on CRIME scenes...(if they can get the blood up).In crack houses it is never replaced because they smoke the carpet when they run outta crack.I hope this helped you...chief james caselton jenkins

I USUALLY USE A RUG DOCTOR ON ALL MY HOUSES BETWEEN RENTERS ,,HOWEVER IF THE CARPET NEEDS TO BE REPLACED THE BEST THING TO DO IS REPLACE IT SO THAT THERE IS NO ARGUMENTS ABOUT WHAT KIND OF CONDITION IT WAS IN WHEN THEY MOVED IN,,,
I HAVE NOT HAD TO CLEAN ANY CARPETS MYSELF FOR YEARS NOW, THEY DO IT...
I HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS FOR YEARS WITH RENTERS SINCE I MADE SOME CHANGES ABOUT SOME THINGS, IN FACT I NOW GET RENT CHECKS BEFORE THEY ARE DUE,
IF YOU ARE JUST GETTING IN THE BUSINESS OF RENTALS, THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO IS GO COMPLETELY THRU THE HOME BEFORE HAND AND MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS IN TOP SHAPE AND SERVICED (PAINT, DOORS WINDOWS SCREENS, ETC.)
