it depends what you are using it for
slicone is great for areas constantly getting wet like bathtubs outside round doors and window frames.
latex is more for filling in around basebooard or coving areas that you can paint
since silicone can be painted it wont stick to is like acrylic latex.latex tends to go very hard after time and is a real pig to get off where as silicone peels off alot easier and cleans up with acetone.latex advantage it cleans up with water and once its set its set nothings going to move it
slicone advantage it gives and moves and still holds its seal but requires patience to apply so it doesnt get everywhere
