Why does my component heating system breed tic...tic...tic....sounds!??? It keep me up adjectives hours of darkness!?

I have a component heater and it make really loud sounds when I turn it on and when it turns off. I regard as it may be the metal heating up inside the oven and also cooling down, but I'm not sure. I'm hoping it's something I can adjust or fix.
PLEASE HELP!!!

Answers:    Sounds like exactly what you describe - metal expanding when the boil is on, then contracting when it cools down. If nearby is a fix, I don't know what it is.
My mom and dads did this, and then started making a full-size boom noise when it started to pale, we found out that the thermal coupling was doomed to failure, and the exhaust vent to the outside was clogged. We be afraid of the age of the unit, so we installed a untried energy simplified wall heater, it runs stale of propane. It is so quiet, and warm their house really good.
