The water pressure went up and now my shower leaks 24/7 - what should I do?

Answers:
If the water pressure went up that much, I'd double check the toilets too. Flush them. If you hear gurgling while the tank is refilling, go down to your water meter and check to see if you have a brass dome-like device after the meter. That would be the pressure reducer. If not and the toilet gurgles, get one installed.

As for the shower head, try to unscrew it off the neck of the base and apply some Teflon tape to it. If the leaking still persists, get a new shower head.

Wish I had more info for you. By the way, how did the pressure increase?

Good Luck!!

call a plumber and have it fixed
water pressure is based on the height of the water from your supply. unless the water company has done anything i doubt the pressure has gone up. if your shower leaks i would think that the washer has degraded inside or that the water has cut a channel through the seating for the washer. there is no easy fix, so unless its an expensive shower i`d go and buy a new one. you may get the same type and have a strait swap. if its quite modern, the shower will be on push fit fittings.
dont bother calling a plumber - if you live anywhere near me, it would be cheaper to buy a new house - and quicker
