Why does my combi boiler hold losing marine pressure?

We have a 3 yr behind the times boiler and when we turned the heating on this week the upstairs radiators be cold. Noticed water pressure be low so topped system up and raditors filled up. But inside a couple of hours the pressure had dropped vertebrae down again. We topped up to 1.5 and it always drops down to 0.8 but no lower. There are no open leaks. Any accepted wisdom please??

Answers:    You have a slick or the expansion vessel has gone, look outside where on earth the safety pipe go through the wall, is there any sign of hose at all? If so, you call for the pressure relief stopcock replaced (not a diy job), if the pipe is dry, then travel to each close of every radiator, make physically sure that no hose is trickling down each pipe, if adjectives this proves fruitless, locate the purple or red cylinder inside the boiler, there is a bonnet on it like you find on a coupĂ© tyre, remove the cap and press the pin once, smartly (don't keep it pressed you will lose the gas surrounded by it), if water comes out, the expansion vessel is gone, it is usually cheaper and easier to install one on the pipework than taking it stale the boiler. Hope this sorts it.
You've got a soak in a sea pipe.
Contact your local water company and ask them to check out their pressure.
Hi.I agree beside earwigo. We had our dampen pressure tested & the outside pipe was found to be leak our pipe is in front garden so it be easy to locate & the best chunk they fixed it for free.
Sorry to hear youre having probs next to boiler . As you are probably already aware the heating circuits from these boilers are hermetically sealed systems and any continuous pressure drop definately means its a percolate . Smaller leaks can evaporate hastily if in a thaw or hot area (even inside the boiler casing) but to drop contained by a few hours indicates quite a serious one . If the seepage is not below a floor on the system somewhere it may be leaking through the sanctuary discharge valve or even the draincock . Have a look outside to see where on earth these pipes terminate and check if river is coming out . If no water is demonstrable sellotape a carrier shoulder bag over the discharge pipe and check after an hour or so to see if any water appears surrounded by the bag as it I don`t know an intermittent leak. You will still stipulation a qualified engineer to fix it tho . Hope this help . Good luck
could be to do with actual pressure of hose down coming into house. i just have to have piping replaced because i have same problem of low pressure, no hot water, taking ages to compress bath, melt rads. contact water board to examination pressure - not guaranteed they will do any repairs though to your side of the house. repair has made big difference but salaried lb300. was informed if marine pressure low can affect shower and combi boiler efficiency. also have to have cir uit board replaced. my combi is 7 yrs elderly
We have a combi boiler and it be doing what yours does.We got contained by a plumber and he said that the pressure lever switch has gone. He get a new one and fitted it.
