How much does it cost to replace a fuel oil tank (in the basement) -- Hartford CT area?

I'm looking at buying a house -- needs fuel oil tank replaced (not leaking yet) -- located in hte basement. Looking for ballpark costs of new tank, installation, disposal of old -- Simsbury CT area

Answers:
Removing the tank from the basement is a good thing. Modern building codes prohibit the installation of fuel oil storage tanks in the basement so your new tank will have to be located outside the home. Some communities require that they be buried for cosmetic reasons. Your local fuel oil dealer or heating contractor will know.

Good luck with your project.
