That happened in my old house, is yours formica, too? Under the cabinet you have to lay on your back to see the screws that they used to attach the countertop to the wall and tighten them. Mine seemed like they were stripped and too short to adequately secure it to the wall, so I replaced them with longer ones. It really helps to have someone above pushing while you're screwing. Then caulk along the top edge. That helps gunk from accumulating along the edge.
