No heat from an IDEAL combi boiler - Any help to cure this problem?
Answers:
mine has done it twice despite the pressure being ok. i tried all the usual things but what cured it was running the hot tap at just a dribble. i have no idea why except the boiler had to light to heat the water..
Other answers:
Try replacing the thermocoupler.
That goes bad, and it wont ignite the flame.
They are relatively cheap...maybe 4 bucks or less, and they are what acitivated the burner.
(Its that copper wire that goes from your pilot light back to a metal box that is on the end of the gas line in your boiler. It may be inside or outside the boiler, depending on how old the thing is).
I wish you well..

I had to replace the circuit board on mine. It was very expensive.
suggest that you contact a heating Eng
could be the water pressure in the loop. you should have a pressure valve ,turn it on till the needle shows 3 or their could be a red line . when the pressure is up turn the valve off. hope this is the answer.
Make sure your thermostat isn't turned down to zero - as happened when I had the boiler man out and it turned out my little girl had been 'fiddling'!
if you are in uk get a corgi registered engineer out it will cost but you do not mess about with gas then get gas board cover plan
Need to know the model number or GC number before I could help.
