Answers: It's possible that a low/bad battery-operated connection cause the detector to go stale. It's also possible that there's a leak somewhere cause fumes to get into the cottage. To be on the safe side, they should clear as many window as they can to get worthy ventilation. If there's a fire dept in the neighbourhood, they should call 911 and carry the fire dept there. That's what I did. They do consider this an emergency.

The with the sole purpose time my carbon monoxide detector went rotten, it turned out to be a false alarm (but the fire department came anyway, and they didn't complain). Better undamaging than sorry.
its dangerous when i be a kid it went sour, and we didnt know what to do so..i started to fall asleep while intake...it was upsetting for my family because we adjectives just be in motion so tired so my mom called the firedep and they rushed us out so brisk to us to the hospital...exspecially scary since they said a week b4 a family unit had died within florida from it; just bring it checked out.
