I have ryobi weedeater. why is it tha t I lose the string in 5 mins?

Answers:
probably because it is not installed properly, or you arent putting enough string in it. On average, put about 6 feet of string in at one time and wind it up so it can auto-feed when you tap it on the ground.

Other answers:
Make sure its wound in the right direction with no tangles.

you need to find a good string what string are you using.9mm or 13mm
I had the same problem so I put on gator blades. But then I lost the shield and crap flies all over me when I weed whack.
the weed eater uses a nylon strand to cut the weeds. the nylon wears down with use. if your weed eater has an semi auto feed tap the head of the eater(where the line comes out) on the ground while the head is spinning. the head uses centrifugal force to feed the line. so if it is not spining it will not work properly
My sister had one and it did this too. I took it to the lawnmower repair shop and had the guys there take off the string head and throw it away. Then they ordered a better designed string head that came with another brand of weedeater, and this thing has now run for a few years with no problems.
After bumping the string head it is not returning to cutting position but unwinding the entire spool. Take it apart and clean it of debris and make sure the spring is popping the head back to cutting.
