any corgi registered people with a bit of advice?

I have just bought a house and im worried about the boiler (back boiler) and the electrics i want to get them checked to make sure they are in good working order but all the gas and eletricity is turned off! so im not sure which way to go about it and i want to know before i sign the contract any ideas appreciated!

Answers:
get a landlords safety report from the seller, they have too provide one under some law or other, blah blah.

Other answers:
well im not corgi registered. but the company youre signing the contract with could possibly send out somebody to chek for you if u want.

The previous owner does not need to give you a landlords certificate because you are not a tennant and they are not your landlord.

Most gas compaines will offer a basic gas safety check for your gas appliances, this only makes sure your appliance is in safe working order. There is nothing stopping you getting a full service on your back boiler and fire. I would recommend this as any flue or vent problems with this type of appliance can lead to serious problems.

If you contact Brittish/Scottish gas they offer a one off service without having to have a contract, I'd contact them, they might not be well liked but they are the best and most reliable company to do it. I'd even consider getting a contract with them as they offer a 'Home Electrical Cover' contract that covers all your fixed wiring and accessories. Two birds with one stone.

I've included a link to their site.

Hope that helps
