What should I have in a basic tool box for home repairs?

It'll be my first tool box!

Answers:
The basics:
hammer
pliers
crescent wrench
screwdrivers *
tape measure
utility knife and blades

Non-essential but handy:
channel locks
needlenose pliers
medium pipe wrench
prybar
wire strippers
hand saw
hack saw
heavy scissors
socket set *

fasteners:
duct, masking and electrical tape
all-purpose glue
super glue
wall anchors
assorted nails and screws
wire nuts

* For your screwdrivers, I'd suggest an interchangeable bit driver with a bit kit. Basically with one screwdriver, you'd get 2 size flathead, 3 size phillips, 8 torx bits, 8 allen (hex) bits, a 1/4" socket adapter, and in some cases, sockets ranging from 1/4"-5/8". I'm including this link just as an example, you can buy these kits at any hardware store.
