I hired a painting company and the crew examiner said they would come out and powerwash on a friday and then start to paint on a Monday (Jul 23). No one showed up so he said Wed, later Thurs, then Fri. Finally, after complaining, someone comes out to powerwash on Jul 29. Painters come Monday and work thru Thurs. The painter on his crew quit and it's now Aug 6 and my house is moderately painted. (Of course, he says they are coming out tomorrow or the subsequent day). Is this a typical housepainting experience? I've never had a house painted formerly so I have no opinion. The contract only indicates the undertaking to be completed in the summer, but I find the drawing out the date like that to be not fundamentally professional. It's a national company by the way that hires college kids.

I'm a sculpture contractor and no this is not normal business practices. Most right contractors show up when they say they will ( weather permit. the weather can push the start time back. also the weather can affect the start date after the pressure wash. You normally want at least 2 business days to tolerate things thoroughly dry). If your contract does not have a specific start and finish date, next you might be at their will no matter how much you approve or disapprove of their business diplomacy. If you haven't paid contained by full, you could try to negoiate with them to finish immediately, or drop them and hire somone else to finish the work. Did you get reference?
Some houses it takes longer than others. Some painter are slower than others. To be honest if you didn't have a pro. do it you might be contained by trouble.
The man next door to my mom painted his own atmosphere sized house himself in close to 2 days (after powerwashing of course!) Talk going on for motivation! That sounds a lot resembling they're messing you over :(
