Does a High altitiude Hot water heater have to modified to use in Missouri?
Answers:
I think it will work- but ask the installer he should know about such things. It may not burn with as much flame as normal. A water heater takes the oxy from the room, that valve only controls the amout of gas that is flowing, for high altitude where less oxy is in the room may be less. My guess is you will need a higher setting to get a normal heat.
Thats only a guess- Call 1-800-456-9805, thats American WH- tell them its American and want to know the answer.
This of course assumes a Gas Water heater.

modified no adjusted most likely...
with the thinner air at high altitude it's jet may have been changed out. but water heaters just aren't that complicated. if threes no adjustment for the air fuel mixture you may need to replace the jet...both simple but if you don't know how call a pro..

If it is a gas fired wateheater it does. A high altitude gas water heater is designed to burn in a low oxygen environment.
