How do you fix a squeeky hardwood floor?
Answers:
the best way to do this is if you have a basement and you can access the floor joists. if you can have someone walk around up stairs so you can find the squeak down stairs. once you find the squeak drive a shim between the sub-floor and joist until the squeak stops.(DON'T DRIVE IT IN TO FAR OR YOU WILL PUT A HUMP IN THE FLOOR) not to hard just time consuming if ya have a lot of squeaks.

Put talcum powder into all the cracks.
Put talcum powder into all the cracks.
stop walking on it or learn to fly
get very small nails and possibly wood putty to match the floor, if needed.
The trick as i was taught was to truly zero in on where on this board is it squeaking? My buddy actually uses a stethoscope - then carefully put in the very small nail - small head below the surface. Putty if desire
