Does anyone know anything about motion detector porch lights?
Answers:
Check to see if there is a switch which at one time controlled that particular light. If there is a switch that goes to the light someone may have inadvertently cut it off and then cut it back on. When the switch is cut off for a moment and then back on it acts as a manual override and will render the motion detecting sensor inactive. Try this, cut the switch off for 30 seconds and then cut it back on. This should reset the sensor and restore its motion sensing function.

Didn't that drive you crazy every 4 minutes? Off/on, off/on, off/on?
Call your landlord and ask him/her about it. If it can't be repaired they should replace it if it was there when you rented the house.

Some motion lights can be "reset" by turning off the switch its hooked to for a minute...If that doesnt work check under the light itself and look for a dial or a panel you can open...This is where you can also set the settings based on when you want the light on or off as well as the sensitivity level...
Change the setting. If that fails, go for replacement.
tell you landlord, see if he will replace it most landlord will. those sensors go all the time. some light allow the sensor to be swap ed out. but go with landlord first if not change the fixture or sensor. they are cheap.
turn the switch off for ten mins and then turn it back on
(most have a setting where if you turn it off and then right back on it will stay on (for like haveing a party on your porch or something))
