YUCK!! leak toilet, basically a few months after the wax ring be replaced... what's the settlement?
so, i have the wax ring replaced, and they had to shim the toilet up to win it at the right level. they be going to replace the bolts, but they couldn't because they couldn't get the ripened ones out of the floor (or something?)
a month after that, the toilet started making "squishy" wet noise whenever it was sit on.
and now, a couple months after *that* started, a gross puddle begin oozing out the back of the toilet foundation... so obviously the wax ring isn't hermetic & needs to be replaced, but what can be done to prevent this from going on again??
i've seen wax ring assemblies that get longer the joint, but none that shorten it so we wont' entail shims... do they exist?
how do i fix this once & for all???
thankfulness
Answers: remove the toilet and get some "Rock rock-hard putty" it is a power and you mix it with wet. use it to level the floor, later install a new wax ring, get hold of one with a plastic d¨Ścolletage. Check the bolts between the tank and toilet. they colud be leak.
Is it caulked?
***Edit***
Okay, good luck!!! (My dad told me one and the same... most are caulked but you don't "have" to.)
Seal is leaking again.
The toilet desires to be firm otherwise the rocking will create a problem with the wax ring.
Just squirting some caulk around the foot won't stop the leak but trap the moisture and create even bigger problems.
You necessitate to get a plumber out. Remove the toilet, replace the set screw and ring. There may be a subfloor problem if they have to shim it. Call someone asap otherwise the dampen will be a problem.
couldnt get the matured ones out???????????/thats ridicules whomever installed the ring didnt know what they were doing hire a professional plumber and carry it fixed correctly its an easy errand for a real pro
