Make sure you paint the lighter colors first when you want to paint the second color make sure the paint is dry take a chalk line shoot a strait line then put some masking tape just underneath it .When you paint make sure you don't cross to the bottom side of the tape ,wait till the paint is dry just pull the masking tape of and you will have what you wanted in the first place

U can paint upto the lintel height , say upto the door height with one colour and from lintel to the bottom of ceiling with another colour.
