how to clean a coffee maker?

Answers:
Run a mix of vinegar and water solution through it. Then run plain water through several times. It removes any buildup. They also have commercial cleaners available in the grocery store coffee section.

Other answers:
Run a solution of water and white vinegar through it, then run just water through it.
Run a solution of water and white vinegar through it, then run just water through it.
Put half a cup of vinegar and fill the rest of the tank up with water.....brew! Then I do a few rounds with just plain water to get the vinegar smell out of the coffee maker.
Run white vinegar through it like in a regular brewing. Then you can wash the coffee pot out.
Vineger and water. Fill your glass coffee pot with vineger and water then pour into the coffer maker part, brew like u would coffee, then run several cycles of clear water thru it to rid it of the vineger-2 or 3 cycles. Also take a wet rag and clean where the water or coffee comes out. It's easy and cheap..lol
if the vinegar doesn't work , in tough cases , use lime away.
use white vinegar, then follow up with 2 pots of water.
Run a mixture of vinegar and water through it and then plain water. Change your filter every time and keep running clean water through it until filter is clean.
I make a pot of bleach water==then run fresh water through it a time or two. Been doing this for years--cleans great--no after taste. Just rinse well and it"s good to go.
run white vineger through then clear water. as for the pot itself to remove any coffee stains, use a combination of ice cubes, a little water and salt. swish around in the carafe and rinse...comes out looking brand new
Run vinigar and water through it then rinse by running just water through a few times
I use Steredent tablets, disolve one in a beaker of warm water, allow all the fizz to die down, and fead into the system.

This is also great for getting rid of stains in Coffee cups, soak in a bowl of hot water, one tablet per cup, and leave over night.
If the above don't work, try this. I usually use CLR which stands for Calcium, Lime and Rust removal. We have a problem with calcium clogging the water lines in the coffee pot and regular use of CLR keeps the coffee running.
vinigar works as a regular maintenance, but for bad water clogging, I use The Works or Top Job shower and bath cleaner brewed straight followed by 2-3 clear water runs (be sure to have plenty ventilation)
