How do I trouble shoot a boisterous cadet furnace?

I'm up visiting my father, and he have a cadet heater contained by his wall that it making all sorts of uproar. It is a constant buzz sound that wax and wanes contained by a regular pattern. Should I trouble shoot and try to fix it (what do I look for) or basically replace it?

Answers:    These wall units sometimes hold a small fan bringing up the rear the heating factor or a highly polished stainless reflector to direct boil into the room. If the ceramic supports for the heat element are loose, you will bring back a vibration. It may also own a loose or worn rheostat. Check the links below for information concerning a CPSC recall. It may be easier and cheaper ($150-$200) to replace it.
possibly there is a screw or panel loose.
